Did Jesus really exist? Jeremy D Vance

Did Jesus really exist? Some people consider the Gospels a mythic tale of Jesus and that we can never know what Jesus said or did. Yet as we study 1 John 1:1, we find a counter to this argument.
John claims in the first verse that he and others physically saw Jesus, touched him with their hands, and heard his words. The verbs “heard,” “seen,” and “touched” all point to Jesus being physically present in the world. No extraordinary claims here just one proclaiming they were eyewitnesses to Jesus’ reality.
In Mark 1:19, John saw Jesus walk up to him and his brother James while they prepared their fishing nets. They also heard Jesus call to them to follow him. Simple description and no extraordinary claims. Every detail grounded in reality. At Jesus’ resurrection, they touched his wounded hands and side to determine the reality of his existence.

Dear Christian, your faith is not built upon the shaky ground of a myth, but upon the physical presence of Jesus Christ which was witnessed by John, Peter, James and others. These saw his miracles and heard his words of life. They interacted with him daily for three years. They saw him crucified and heard him commit his spirit into the Father’s hands. The disciples also saw, heard, and touched him intermittently the forty days after his resurrection.
Did Jesus really exist? Yes, Jesus was and is alive. Your faith has found its resting place in the ever-living one, Jesus Christ. Don’t let others convince you Jesus was a myth. He truly lived and many people bore witness to that. Where are the books from his time or immediately afterward discounting his existence? They were never written.
Believer, hold fast to Jesus. Though you may not see, hear or touch him right now, you will after the veil of death is lifted. In the meantime, continue trusting in him and he will keep you until the end.
