Often in life, we need to rest and draw deep to satisfy our weary souls. As I encourage others, I want to make sure I’m drawing in for myself too. I am now reading “The Brave Encourager” by Heidi Mortenson lmft. I will share a quote.

“To be a brave encourager, you need to rest in who God designed you to be, no one else.”

The Brave Encourager

She talks about walls we build up and lies we believe that misrepresent our identity. Returning to our relationship with Jesus, we allow him to destroy the walls and lies. Then we can soak in how much God truly loves us and how our identity is rooted in him.

Are you believing a lie someone told you? That you aren’t good enough unless you achieve his/her high expectations? That you aren’t acceptable unless you do x,y, and z? Brothers and sisters, these lies will wither your confidence. Take them to Jesus and ask to see yourself as he sees you. Find out who you are in him. Remember Psalms 139:14, “I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” God sacrificed Jesus for you because you have great worth to him. He loves you very much. Enjoy his love for you today and keep drawing from the well.
